To name a few, it embraces the Ocean Terminal, South Leith Parish Church, the Cruz ship, Leith Community Education Centre, Pilrig St Pauls Church, Leith Folk Club, and the Friends of Dalmeny Park, as well as primary schools from all over the area.

Like all great festivals it is an expression of the people who are holding it, and the history of the place where they live, but it also brings visitors from other cultures to Leith, and a variety of events for Leithers to enjoy whilst showing off the skills and talents they've honed over the previous year.

The shoes were spread throughout the church, which made a reflective and thought provoking setting. Seeing the shoes placed around the War Memorial, was especially moving.

The Friends of Dalmeny Park were also notably active, holding what was almost a mini festival of their own. Leith & North visited the dog show (sponsored by Braid Vets) in the rain, and we'll be adding it to our expanded coverage very soon..
