The event was held on Saturday, August 16th and was packed with families with small children and many young residents from the area. A highlight was the performance of the Grass Roots Theatre Company from Zimababwe who performed a set, led games with the children and played for the fancy dress parade led by Pirate Paul the local chiropractor.

The fancy dress contest had the theme of fantasy and superheroes. Pirate Paul (who has a secret identity as a chiropractor at Health For Life) led a conga line round the Park to the drums of Grass Roots. The contest was judged by Malcolm Chisholm, local MSP and Jenny Ryan of River City. The winners were a nurse from the girls and Batman from the boys.
