"In today's economic climate, many people have learnt once again the
importance of business which is driven by ethics and the consumer
interest, instead of an unprincipled drive for profit at any price. The
Cooperative movement is the longest established ethical business in the
UK, and it's great to see it expanding again. And as a Labour MP, who is
also a member of the political wing of the cooperative movement, the
Cooperative Party, I'm delighted to see this store reopening which will
serve many people in my own constituency." Mark Lazarowicz, Edinburgh North & Leith MP

Fairer trading has always been at the heart of the Co-operative Movement, and Scotmid has long had a good story to tell about both its Fairtrade products and it's cruelty free, ecologically friendly lines. Leith & North is delighted to see Scotmid presenting itself so well, and giving its hardworking staff a morale boost.
