Dialogues of Wind and Bamboo: Midsummer Magic (concluded)
The Sculpture Garden on the lower birch lawn saw the final act of the
event. Anne-Marie Culhane (in red,) and Chang Zhang (in white and pink,) represented
Enlightenment as they danced around Susie Brown's installation "Natural
Progression".

Natural Progression was made up of 600 shoots of black
bamboo. Susie Brown creator, writes : "Natural Progression reflects the natural
growth pattern and cycle of a plant revered for its many uses, highlighting
the need for a symbiotic relationship between people and our biological habitat".

Susie Brown creator, continues : "After flowering, this black bamboo
dies with sometimes devastating consequences for people depending on the plant
for food and building materials. But the natural cycle of flowering and death
leads to another cycle of new life and new growth".

The dancers were joined by Cheng-Ying Chuang, countertenor and musician, and
others .

The epilogue to the evening was created by FOUND and the Shanghai Jazz Project
performing in the Glass House, as visitors and other performers alike had the
opportunity to dry out, chat and listen to the sublime music in the exotic setting.
